Friday May 8th was a huge milestone in our lives. Tyler, a student at NC State has been living with a group of guys on Dixie Trail in Raleigh. 3 of the roomies (Ben, Stewart, JB) graduated on Saturday. Tyler changed his major and did some great summer projects for 3 summers, therefor he will have to go this fall semester in order to graduate.
The biggest part of this whole story is the fact that Tyler and his best buddy for about 19 years will soon go their separate ways. Ben Wright will be moving to Greensboro in July to begin his dream job, as Ben put it so eloquently "To be a farmer". He will begin to farm some land in
Greensboro, NC for a ministry that I can not remember the name of at this time. We are sad to see this part of their lives to end since they have been roommates for the past 4 years. I know God has huge things in store for them and I am so excited to see what comes next. Stewart will begin an internship at a church in DC in the fall. Jonathan will marry beautiful Sarah Margaret in July and then 2 months later will head to Ethiopia for ?, I'm not sure how long.
The party was so much fun and great to see a small picture of how these guys live life together.
Roomies are in the group picture: Tyler, Ben, Jonathan, Stewart, Clint and Brentice.

House for Rent

The birds moved out after the last storm tore their roof off. I can't blame them, you would think their landlords would at least fix the place up. We had about 5 hours of snow last night. It was beautiful and we enjoyed the best snow cream at midnight.
David left for New Jersey today, he is attending a training session for the new drugs that he will be peddling. Because of the huge crowd at the airport (who had been delayed the day before), David gave up his seat for people on standby and was given a first class seat. What a treat for him and an unexpected one at that. He flew into New Jersey where the storm was still active. Hard to believe they fly in this stuff.

Winter Wonderland

Today I got my wish, snow. For days I have been hoping for a little more snow. Well Last night it snowed and we got about 1 1/2 inches. Woo-Hoo! I know all my Florida friends are so envious. David waited a few hours to leave for work and when he did he slipped, caught himself with his hands and slid down the driveway a bit on his backside. We are thankful that he did not break anything and actually made it to Greensboro and back with out a hitch. Ginger was out of school so we went to lunch, got me a hair cut and rented some fun movies. Great day. I love those days. No real crisis or interruptions and allows us to be just us, mommy and daughter. Thank you God.

Christmas 2008 Family and fun

What an incredible time we had with family and friends this year. Tyler was able to come home from NC State on the 17th and Lindsey arrived on the 23rd. Jessica and Hunt followed on the 24th. We are so thankful for our time together, lots of laughs, time spent just being together. On Christmas day Rebecca's family came in from Morganton, NC in that group was Dad, Mom, David, Brandon(David's son), Chris, and Uncle Don. My sister Vicki, Uncle Fred and Betty came from the Charlotte area. We ate and laughed and laughed till we almost wet our pants. Ping Pong is our new family game thanks to David, somehow we didn't take a single picture of that.
Everyone is gone, we are all getting back to work and school, I hope that we don't get to comfortable that we forget the whole reason we had time together. Time that all started with a precious baby born in a stable, in a cave, born to a virgin, who was King of Kings and Lord of Lords. My redeemer, Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:6-8 (The Message)
6-7Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
8-9Summing it all up, friends, I'd say you'll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.

Here is precious little Beth Moore and Rosa Parks.
They live in the back yard of the house my son rents with 5 other guys on Dixie Trial in Raleigh, NC. Beth loves the Raleigh women and what God did at the Living Proof conference. Beth is loved and appreciated and here is proof of that. When these little ones were brought to Dixie Trail to live, a seperate pen was constructed by the boys to protect them. Great picture of God's love and care for each of us.
